Lobe pumps

The function principle of a lobe pump is quite similar to external gear pumps, the difference between the two types of pumps is that unlike external gear pumps the lobes do not make contact. This character makes sure that lobe pumps have high sanitairy qualities. Besides that, lobe pumps are high in efficiency, reliable corrosion resistance and have good clean-in-place and steam-in-place (CIP/SIP) characteristics.

This makes that this type of pump is often used in industries including pulp and paper, chemical, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology. In biotechnology they are often used for e.g. feeding ultra-filtration processes or sterile filling applications.

Rotary lobe pumps of the series Verderlobe are used mainly in the food and pharmaceutical industry and meet the highest hygienic standards. The pumps are SIP- and CIP-capable, also solids-laden media can be conveyed. These pumps enable the gentle pumping of very shear-sensitive media. Ideally suited to both hygienic and industrial applications from food, beverage, dairy or pharmaceutical or personal care.
