We congratulate Mr. Marc De Vreese for winning the Wii-fit after participating in the Passion for Pumps competition. Marc is a foreman of the maintenance department of Oudegem Papier and he was delighted to have won.

Empo: Out of all the participants from all over the world, you won the competition, congratulations! What made you participate our incentive on the Passion for Pumps website?
Marc: I regularly visit the Empo-Verder website which is a great tool to find detailed information of all types of pumps and their working principles. But your mailing was the reason to visit the Passion for Pumps website. I entered the website, answered the questions and now I have won a WiiFit! Great! My kids will be very happy as well.

Empo: What kind of company is Oudegem Papier?
Marc: Our department Paper Recovery collects paper which is first sorted by quality, then bundled and and the end sold to paper-recovery digesting industries. Unfortunately our department was sold recently. Our location in Oudegem now focuses on recycling used paper that is used for the manufacturing of for example recovered paper and cardboard for packaging.

Empo: In what way are you connected to Empo-Verder?
Marc: We have been customers of Empo-Verder for many years already. Because of your wide range of pumps (centrifugal -and volumetric pumps) there is always a pumping solution for our process. Some of these pumps are already more than 10 years in our company.

Empo: What Empo-Verder pumps are used in your company? And for what kind of application?
Marc: The Verderflex peristaltic pumps are pumping our paper sludge. Water is recycled after being divided from the old paper. The Verderpro excentric wormpumps add starch to the production process of the final product to garantee the strength of the paper and cardboard. We also have different types of centrifugal pumps from Empo-Verder for several water transport applications in our factory.
